Sip & Sew | Free Sewing Class
April 23 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Learn to sew while you sip! Well maybe not at the same time. But if your favorite jeans are in much need of repair or you’d like to ditch last decade’s denim for something new by turning your old jeans into an upcycled bag, then join the Seams Legit neighborhood group from American Sewing Guild’s Louisville Chapter for a free sewing meet-up and workshop on Saturday, April 23. This is an absolute beginner’s group for people that want to learn how to sew, so from 1-3pm, they’ll have folks on-site ready to help you repair your favorite pair of jeans or assist with anything you need help sewing. Sign up here!
This one is a freebie! Space is limited, but denim is seldom in short supply.
What you’ll learn:
– piecing weird shapes
– “eyeballing it”
– “mistakes” turning into “design choices” before your very eyes!
What to bring:
– Your own machine if you have one (with a size 16 needle, if you can), or use a loaner from ASG during class.
– Your own denim if you’d like to use it, but they can provide that too!
