Hi-Wire Lager Wins Silver at the 2026 Great American Beer Festival

In case you missed the official news, our beloved Hi-Wire Lager has won ANOTHER Silver medal, solidifying its place as one of the best Pilsener Lagers in the world. Following up on a Silver medal at the 2025 World Beer Cup, Hi-Wire Lager just secured Silver at the 2026 Great American Beer Festival® (GABF) in the International-Style Pilsener category.

This is a profoundly special achievement for us, particularly because this happens to be the very first beer two college roommates brewed back in 2013 in our original 2,700 sq. ft. South Slope spot. Winning a medal at GABF is one of the most important designations a brewery can receive, signifying true brewing excellence and mastery in style accuracy.

The Gold Standard of Craft Beer The GABF competition is incredibly competitive. This year, 7,267 entries were analyzed over three days by a panel of 225 professional judges. The 2026 competition drew entries from 1,300 breweries and cideries across 49 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. Taking home hardware in this arena is a massive badge of honor.

A Perfectly Crafted Pilsener Hi-Wire Lager is a true American lager that is as approachable as it is delicious. Pouring a crisp, bright gold, it strikes a perfect balance of light Pilsen malt and German hops after being extensively lagered to peak maturity. It is your handcrafted option when only a refreshing, light beer will do, making it the absolute perfect palate cleanser for a hot slice of pizza or a mountain of salty fries.

As Adam Charnack, Co-Founder at Hi-Wire Brewing, put it: “Making clean, approachable, technically outstanding, delicious Pilsener Lagers is just about the hallmark for excellence in craft-beer-making”.

Cheers to the Team

Our loudest applause goes to Peter, Hank, and our entire talented production team. Award-winning beer isn’t just brewed; it’s cellared, packaged, QC’d, and shipped on well-maintained machines by a team operating at an award-winning caliber of execution.
